Hobbies

I'm interested in several hobbies. These include (in no particular order): woodworking, computers, home automation, caving, ham radio, and photography.

Photography

My latest interest is photography. I recently bought a Nikon Coolpix 995 camera. I've started taking photos of everything! I've started collecting some photo albums below.

Note: The photos are stored on another machine with much more space, but a slower connection. Please be patient. Also, if the other machine or connection is down you may have to try again later.

You can click on a thumbnail for a larger image. The top left and top right corner will contain thumbnails of the previous and next images in the album respectively. Clicking on the large image will load the (huge!) original shot.

  • Alabama Gulf Coast Vacation, May 2002. This album is currently only slightly organized. I still want to put captions on the pictures and rename the files. This album contains almost all the shots I made, even the bad ones. I may cull some of them in the future.

Ham Radio

The 2002 Amateur Radio Field Day for the Huntsville / Madison County area was held on June 22 and 23 at Intergraph.

Click here to see some pictures of the setup on Friday, June 21.

Caving

I enjoy what I would call very basic caving. So far the only non-commercial cave I've been to is Tumbling Rock. It's tough to make good photos in a cave with a cheap (sacrificial) camera, but I managed to make a few good ones back in 1995. Now that I've got a nice camera, I may try to make some with it. I can't decide if I'm brave (foolish?) enough to take a $600 camera into the cave or not...
